University of Honduras, UNITEC, makes sure of more energy with Cummins Power Generation.

The project involved the installation of a 750 kW Generator Set to feed the internal grid of the campus, a transformer and a Transfer Switch for medium voltage, ensuring greater safety in the event of system failure, as well as ensuring the energy needed for the construction of new university buildings. Success was ensured, and the customer was fully satisfied with results. All this is due to our team’s technical competence and the quality of our equipment.

The Caribbean’s most important fair took place at the Caribbean Convention & Fair Center in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia. This event included a wide-ranging exhibition of machinery and equipment for processes, raw materials, services, etc. Our presence at the event was led by local distributor Cummins de los Andes, which provided information about the wide range of integral solutions we have to offer, and how they can cover and contribute to the development of industrial projects. |

Yet another edition of our Lunch & Learn seminars took place in the city of Venezuela, carried out by local distributor Dieselval. The seminar was attended by 25 representatives of important companies such as Dina de Occidente, Occidental de Camiones y Servicios, Multiservices LVM, C.A Diario Panorama, RoxarInc, Pirelli, Carbones del Guasare, Carbones de la Guajira, Preston, Grupo Mixto Americano, Iteveca, Agropecuaria el Silencio, Cementos Catatumbo and PDVSA-GASPROM. The subjects of most interest to the public were Recommendations for Installation of Generators, Criteria for Correct Sizing of Generators, Automatic Transfer Systems and Electric Self-Generation Systems. Cummins Power Generation’s engineers Abel Chacón and Miguel Jiménez took part in the event, explaining cutting-edge technology and systems in global markets. Cummins stands out with its Lunch & Learn seminar, in Mérida.

Engineers Jeronimo Perez, Gustavo Gomes and Pedro Velazquez were in charge of presenting the Lunch & Learn hosted in Mérida, Mexico. They were supported by our local distributor, Megamak, who helped present and coordinate the event for its 32 enthusiastic participants. Several topics were covered at the Lunch & Learn, including how to protect a generator set and determining application and installation requirements. Grupo Laeisz visits Cummins Power Technologies plant in Mexico.

The Cummins Power Technologies plant, in San Luis Potosí, played host to an important delegation from Cummins distributor, Grupo Laeisz, represented by Ricardo Jerez. One objective of the visit was to present a Certificate of Recognition Award to Grupo Laeisz for its role in installing the first DMC 1000 in the VirtualGear plant in Mexico. Participants at the certificate award ceremony included Salvador Diliz, Sales Manager for Mexico and Central America; Marco Avila, RSM; Gerardo Gutiérrez, Applications Engineer; Geraldo Torres, Product Engineer; Franco Osuna, Project Leader; Luis Fernando Ramírez, Manufacturing Manager and Cummins Power Technologies’ staff. |

Two distinguished Cummins Power Generation engineers hosted an edition of the highly successful Cummins Lunch and Learn series in Guatemala. Pedro Velázquez, Commercial Manager for Central America, and Marco Ávila, Commercial Manager for the same region, covered a number of topics including protecting generator sets and determining application and installation requirements. The city of Veracruz and local distributor, Orientec, recently hosted another successful edition of Cummins’ Lunch & Learn seminar. The event was hosted by a distinguished contingent from Cummins and 35 visitors. The event highlighted the Cummins line of commercial and power electronics products. Installation recommendations and information about Rental were also featured. Distribuidora Cummins de los Andes organized another four Lunch & Learn seminars in prominent Colombian cities. The events’ goals were to highlight Cummins’ power solution competency and showcase its ability to develop tailor-made customer solutions. Participants were given a general overview of generators as well as specifics about calculating energy needs and understanding the role of transfer switches, parallelism and communication systems. Representatives from several major companies attended the Lunch & Learn, including: Comcel, Telemex, Cerrejon, Croising Global, UPB, Siemens, Gas Natural, Prodeco, Independencia, EPM, Codensa, Electricaribe, Coca-Cola, Banco Santander, IPSE, Alfagres, Miller Sabb, Bristol, Corona, Argos, Vale and others. On May 26, the Mexican city of Puebla hosted an edition of our Lunch & Learn seminar.
