How Cummins Power Generation Serves The Community
|
|
Aside from engineering and providing effective power to the people, Cummins Power Generation strongly believes in giving back to the local communities it resides in. From day one, Corporate Responsibility has always featured strongly in the Cummins organization’s core values – that is, to serve and improve the communities in which we live. Our credo is that the organization is only as healthy as the communities in which we conduct business. Thus, Cummins Singapore employees have regularly volunteered time and efforts to help address various communities’ needs, engaging in discussions to find solutions, enforce these solutions by building coalitions, and apply resources and skills towards finding improvements. The CIC (Community Involvement Committee) team recently came forward to support Singapore Red Cross (SRC) Red Cross Flag Day 2012, for its annual fundraising campaign in aid of local humanitarian causes. 21 CIC members came together on the 17th and 18th January to label 7,650 cash collection tins. The team’s hard work helped SRC in getting their collection tools certified in time, which will be used on 11th February to collect public donations. The proceeds will go towards helping the severely-handicapped residents at the Rec Cross Home for the Disabled, transport subsidies via Red Cross Non-Emergency Ambulance Services, training SRC volunteers in first-aid for disaster readiness, public first-aid education, youth development & leadership training for Red Cross cadets and members, amongst other worthy causes. I stand with our CIC team, proud and with appreciation to my colleagues for their time, hearts and hands – Anton But, Beerendralal Karunakaran, Betty See, Boon Teo, Chan Min Jia, Cheong Mee Boon, Fabian Bong, Joan Wong, Lennon Teo, Lixuan Huang, Michael Parkin, Manjunatha Nanjundaiah, Murali Arumugham, Ng Boon Hwa, R. Lalitha, Sharon Chai, Soh Leng Leng, Susan Ho, Tai Shok Ling, Vanessa Poh, and Zoey Lin.
